My workshops based on the Isle of Skye will be available from May 2013.

Travel to and from my home on Skye is your responsibility. However, if you need it, I'm happy to transfer you to & from the railway station at Kyle of Lochalsh (on the mainland side of the Skye bridge) or from Armadale where the ferry from Mallaig lands on Skye. The train journey between Fort William and Mallaig is reputedly one of the most spectacular in Britain, being very well known these days for its use in the Harry Potter films.

If you need to be collected from Armadale or Kyle of Lochalsh, please let me know in advance.

My experience is that meals are best taken where and when is most convenient to our photography, and this is best done at your own expense. You are most welcome to use the kitchen in my home for self-catering if you wish (there are 4 separate ovens of one kind or another) and preparing a packed lunch is often a good choice, especially when visiting areas with few facilities. There are restaurants in Broadford, Portree, and elsewhere (see my Links page for some suggestions), though many specialise in seafood, which may not be your first choice. (It certainly is not mine!) The local Co-op supermarket has a good supply of foodstuffs but I'll have the necessities like breads, butter, sandwich fillings, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, etc. which you can use while here. (If you want fish or egg sandwich fillings, please let me know in advance of your arrival.)

There is an excellent Indian Takeaway and Restaurant close to the Skye Bridge for which I have menus in the house. This has proved to be a popular choice for many. For those who prefer Chinese, the closest takeaway is in Kyle of Lochalsh.

I know this sounds obvious but.... bring your own camera equipment. I may have some spare tripods available but you're much better having your own.
